Has anyone tried the split squat with overhead stabilization

Jacob Poliquin’s general thinking was Overhead Squats prevent full intent on what the legs can do. If Overhead balance reduces what your legs can do, then it would be counterproductive to improving the split squat. Theoretically someone could be a master Olympic lifter and still train the split squat with full intent, while holding the bar overhead. I personally would not be in that category.
Jacob that being said, it’s an impressive display of mobility! Just because something isn’t ideal doesn’t mean it’s not good. ATG’s general advice will be on the simplest route to a given goal.
